How it Works

PURCHASE your ticket

Visit our events page to find an event in your area and then follow the steps to purchase your ticket. Places are limited as we have a maximum number of people that we can host the event for. If you find there isn’t an event local to you – contact us.

You’ll receive an email

You will receive an email the weekend preceding the event. This will tell you everything you need to know and let you know what you can expect and should help alleviate any last-minute nerves. But remember - firstly, those attending the event are likely just as nervous as you are. Secondly, feeling nervous in the lead-up to the event is expected and totally normal. If you haven’t received an email from the Create My Tribe team by the Monday morning prior to the event – contact us.

YOUR Arrival

Upon your arrival at the venue, you will be greeted by your amazing Friend Request host/ hostess who will hand you a scorecard to complete over the course of the evening. Don’t worry, they will also walk you through the scorecard and what you need to do! You will then be directed to the bar where you can collect your welcome beverage and then to the area where you’ll be seated.

Get comfortable

When it’s time, your Friend Request host/ hostess will gather everyone together and explain how the event works, how to fill out the scorecard, talk about what to expect throughout the evening and most importantly, give you some helpful advice about how to get the most out of it. The event starts promptly at 6.30pm and finishes no later than 8.00pm. The buffet will be served at the end of the event, between 7.30pm and 8.00pm.

Start speed-friending

Your Friend Request host/ hostess will announce when the speed-friending is about to begin. Depending on the Friend Request event that you attend, you can expect each encounter to last around 5 minutes (dependent on the number of participants). At the end of each encounter, your host/ hostess will let you know when to move on to your next potential friend. Whilst you don’t necessarily get to meet everyone who attends, we do find that women meet at least twelve other women on average per event.

Wait for our email

At the end of the night, you will need to hand your scorecard back to your Friend Request host/ hostess. This is very important. If you have circled ‘yes’ to a person and that particular person has also circled ‘yes’ to you, then that’s what we call a match! You will receive each other’s contact details via email approximately 24-48 hours following the event. It’s as simple as that! But our involvement doesn’t stop there as we will check-in with you following the event to see how your journey to making more friends is going.
